Nokia builds Vista gadget: sends, receives SMS messages

Here’s an interesting little app out of the Nokia Beta Labs: a Vista Sidebar gadget that lets you read or send SMS messages right on the desktop. Now before you get the wrong idea, the gadget doesn’t work in a standalone mode, i.e.: without your Nokia device.You’ll need your phone attached to the PC through the Nokia PC Suite but you can do this sans wires by using Bluetooth. It looks like a nice first attempt, but there’s quite a few issues to work though: crashes when you take your phone out of Bluetooth range and no way to look up contacts yet. Still, it shows promise for Nokia device owners running Vista and could be a nice addition to your Sidebar.(via Darla Mack; thanks for the tip, jkk!)
