Nokia Booklet 3G Netbook Available for Pre-order– Most Expensive Netbook Ever
When the Nokia Booklet 3G netbook was first announced, the high price of €570 made it one of the most expensive netbooks. Nokia must not have been listening to the pricing complaints as they have made the Booklet 3G available for pre-orders in Italy for the staggering price of €699. That is over $1,000 and is a ridiculous price for what is basically another netbook. Sure, the Booklet is made of nice metal and has integrated 3G, but the price guarantees failure on the open market. I’m just sayin’.

It’s wrong to do a straight conversion as the Italian price contains taxes that won’t apply in the US and is priced for the Italian market. It’s more likely that Nokia would sell this for $699 or less in the US.
Also, I’d expect to see this sold by phone companies on contract. I don’t know what happens in the US but I’d be surprised if you have to pay anything for this in Europe on contract.
Indeed you can’t do a straight comparison. Not to mentions its more or less exactly $1000, so saying is more than that makes it sound worse than it is. Everything is more expensive in Europe – i paid $615 for my EEE 1101HA netbook which is $430 in the US. Vaio P is $1500 here. Our wages make up for it, I’m a student with a side job that pays $22 an hour, so while it is expensive and I don’t think it will do that well you cannot pay that much attention to european pricing
You forget that carriers will subsidize most of the cost. And how much is that Apple laptop?
What’s Apple got to do with it?
This he means the macbook air. Its expensive, crap, and yet people buy it, so why not buy this
