I disagree (and speak for yourself). Next time I want to know how I act or what I believe, I'll ask someone I pay for giving that service (clergyman). You may be an audio lover and choose not to use stock CANALphones. I am an audio lover and choose not to submit my $200 non-stock canalphones to the harsh environments of the gym or active housework. I also prefer to have near silent low frequency ambient noise levels while listening to my music. It makes it easier to pick up on the more subtle variances in that frequency range. Noise canceling may distort ever so slightly, but the constant whirr of cardio machines and HVAC systems in some gyms can easily have a more negative impact on the listening environment than a NC system's distortion even when using passive noise isolating canalphones. The active NC system on the Walkman X probably works better than your ego would be willing to admit. The canalphones included with the Walkman X are also MUCH better than most stock earbuds. If you are listening in an environment where your enjoyment can actually benefit from using $300+ canalphones, would you really be using a lossy player anyway? Of course, one day when I have enough disposable income to buy a new set of $300+ canalphones every time I rip the cables from the drivers, I may agree with you.

You forgot to mention the built-in WiFi, NetFront web browser, and YouTube app. Those are the most compelling features about this player to me, as everything else is pretty ho-hum for the price.

The iPod touch may not have anything to worry about, but this could be a contender for those deciding between the WiFi-less Cowon S9 and Samsung P3.
