New PhatNotes for Outlook syncs your notes
PhatNotes has long been the premiere note-taking application for the Windows Mobile platform but users have lamented the inability to sync all of those cool notes back to Outlook on the desktop in PhatNotes 5. Earlier versions of PhatNotes would sync with Outlook but the company removed that capability in the recently released version 5. Users complained and PhatWare announced a new version of PhatNotes yesterday that specifically addresses this lack and provides full syncing ability between notes taken on the Windows Mobile side and the notes of Outlook. The press release details some of the changes they had to make to get syncing to work in this new version:
Because Microsoft Outlook does not support passwordprotection and text formatting, these features were removed from PhatNotes forOutlook to provide more reliable synchronization.
Further, the PhatNotes desktop software was replaced withOutlook notes synchronization software that supports ActiveSync 4.5 or later onWindows XP and Windows Mobile Device Center 6.1 on Windows Vista.
PhatNotes 5.0 supports mobile devices powered by WindowsMobile 2003 software or later and Outlook 2000 or later running on Windows 2000or later.
