IMHO, the world’s best e-book reader is the iPhone/iPod touch. Great screens, tons of books available through eReader and Fictionwise… and they have a few nice non-e-book features as well. :)

@bluemonq: might want to try a sony reader with the new firmware update. They now do reflow on some pdf’s, and it seems more responsive to me.

Probably depends on the pdf though, and I haven’t done too much testing on mine (just updated the firmware, and now I’m in the midst of exams)

@bluemonq. The problem is that Bookeen offers only one method of shipping, the $33 FedEx. There is no other option.

The Kindle, which costs $9 more has four levels of shipping, starting at free and going up to $18. The most expensive shipping through Amazon is $1 for overnight express. Still significantly cheaper than the Bookeen.

The price comparison to the Kindle is slightly flawed since the Kindle includes connectivity as well e-readability (new work!).

There are rumors of a new Kindle coming out this fall. It will be interesting to see what it is like – form factor, connectivity, price, compatibility.

Although normally an early adopter, I have held off on the Kindle, wanting to see what V2 is like. I do read books and mags on my Tablet, so I am a viable candidate for one of these devices.

I would be tempted to get one if it could actualy render PDF format at a decent speed, which most of my reading material is in. Seems to be a flaw with the Sony Readers, and having to convert documents for the Kindle by emailing them one at a time doesn’t seem very fun; do they do batch conversions?
