While most people likely think of their computer Desktop space as the catch-all for clutter, it can actually be useful. I drop things on the desktop all the time, but I try to keep items filed in desktop folders for quick access and I clean the desktop every weekend to catch any strays. Still, there’s only so much space to use and even less so on a 7-inch UMPC that I typically use in the native 800 x 480 resolution. What’s a desktop-devoted mobile user to do? Well, I’ve seen virtual desktop software and Expose-like apps for PCs as well, but this Download Squad video of 360desktop blows them all away.

Continuously scrolling right, for example, takes you in a complete circle around an expanded desktop; you can also nav around with a thumbnail map in the top right of your desktop. The everlasting wide-view can be configured with the background of your choice as well as widgets and other informational objects. Private beta for now, but plans call for a larger beta audience next month.
