mySI: are you ready for some football?
You won’t be putting mySI on a handheld, but it can go on a notebook, which still qualifies it as mobile. Plus, the NFL season kicks off for real tonight, so what the heck; lets have a little football freeware. mySI keeps you up to date on your sports news and can sit in your system tray all the live-long day. Sports updates are pulled down to the client, so you can monitor your fantasy football team on the fly. You’ll have to contend with some ads, but in return, you get this and more:
- Sports news
- Photography from Sports Illustrated (no mention of the "Swimsuit Edition")
- Real time ticker for scores
I’m not typically a fan of these constantly running services from a resource perspective, but then again, if it saves me from hitting a few websites during the season for updates, it might be worth a play or two.
