Bought it. Needs adm permission to talk to a locked down machine.

Does anyone know if the Q1 cable will work with any two machines and does it need adm permission to do its work?

In most situations, a USB flash drive seems to suffice for me. Not sure that I'd pay $60 for yet another item to carry around "just in case". And at home it really wouldn't be all that useful.

Also, I've never had the need to do it, but I'd imagine setting up an adhoc/peer-to-peer wireless connection isn't exactly difficult either if you really have to transfer files larger than what your USB drive can hold?

you dont even need ethernet crossover cables on any relatively modern machine, all you need is a regular ethernet cable.

these aren't completely network independent, you still have to have network permissions in place or it wont work.

I can't deny the elegance of this solution. But wouldn't a crossover cable work just as well?

Does the tornado work on non windows machines?
