More HTC Handsets on the Horizon

WMPoweruser caught wind of HTC’s handset roadmap on a Chinese site and grabbed what specs they could through translation. Long story short: If you were impressed by the HTC Touch Pro 2 and Touch Diamond 2, you’ll like what else HTC has in store for 2009. Here’s a summary:

• The 3.6-inch WVGA Whitestone will be available in both GSM and CDMA versions on WinMo 6.1 with a 528MHz CPU.
• The GSM Firestone has the same screen as Whitestone, but adds an 8MP camera, WinMo 6.5 and uses a 600MHz CPU.
• Thoth is a successor to the ol’ Advantage / Athena devices and represents more of a MID-like experience. The main improvement appears to be inclusion of a 1GHz CPU

Note that all of these device are expected to use Qualcomm MSM chips. There’s a few others in the mix, like a nice refresh of my Dash/Excalibur as well, so hit up WMPoweruser for additional info. From a Windows Mobile perspective, I don’t think anyone pushes the envelope more than HTC in terms of features, functions and usability. It’s nice to see that trend continue.
