Mobidapter: Use a USB Stick With Cell Phones
Using USB sticks with flash memory has become second nature to many mobile PC users. They are a convenient way to carry a lot of files and use them with multiple devices. The folks at Elan have produced an innovative gizmo that lets you use a USB stick with any cell phone with a microUSB slot. The Mobidapter has a microSD connector on one end and a USB port on the other. This makes it possible to use high-capacity USB sticks directly with a cell phone by plugging the adapter into the phone, and plugging a USB stick into the Mobidapter. It is available immediately according to the folks at Elan. £36.99 (about $60).

Bizarre, why not just use a microSD with a USB adapter as your USB stick , works for me. Then it is interchangeable with your phone.
This looks like it will break really easily and to be honest was invented after a night on the beers…

Considering how easy it is to either sync your phone via USB cable OR Bluetooth OR just use the built-in SD card slot on so many computers (or easily added), I can’t help but see this as a waste in all but the rarest of circumstances.

Bizarre. When my phones have had something inserted into the micro-USB, they act like jump drives for a comuter, not vice versa. Maybe I’m comletely missing something here.
You’ve all missed the point….
I have one of these and took it with me to an exhibition last week. Got bombarded with USB sticks with company info on and used it to view the files on the stick on my Nokia E90 at the event (didn’t have my laptop with me). Worked a treat.
It’s for viewing or transferring files “on the go”, without having to use a PC, not for back up.
