I believe that Alex's site still generates some indirect value for advertisers at least by improving their visibility in search engines. It has a PageRank of 7 and many still continue to add links to it (by the way, this article has just added one link). So, getting the link from website with such a high PageRank for as low as 1$ it is clearly a reasonable investment. Good luck to all the copycats :) http://www.milliondollarhosting.net

Copying any of these sites or the original idea is futile. It's aready been done and repeated several times. Doing something original is the only way to attract attention. I've done something that's never been done in the world before, which is integrate this form of advertising into content and interactivity and it works. http://www.pixelword.com

However, I do think that I have found a company that will make, and could

Your right there are way too many copy cat sites, the only way one could work now is if there is a really could angle.

I am releasing my site http://www.thegaymilliondollarhomepage.com which is an attempt to bring together the gay and lesbian communities which is the most hard hit sector of HIV and AIDS. Whats more is that 50c of every dollar i make is going straight to AIDS research at UCSF. I am 18 years old and with the money which doesnt go on to AIDS chairy and dosnt go on the cost to keep the web-site going i hope will fund me to go to college.

Ok folks, I think it is safe to say that there are more copycat sites at this point than their are pixels on the Million Dollar Homepage! That being said, when looking at some of them I happened upon the Pixel Challenge site which is attempting to sell 1,000,000 pixels in only 30 days! Amazing if they can do it. I think this is was of the funniest copy-cow million dollar home pages (geddit!) I’ve taken the pixel advertising idea and stirred in a whole lot of cows. (http://www.milliondollarcowpage.com).

Basically, it’s a million dollar home page with cows. Everytime you click on one of the links, you get a cow. You can print off cows, collect cows, share cows and even make your cows do battle (in old fashion, top-trump style).
