Never. I have two copies already Odds of both HDs crashing at once are pretty low.

I'm sorry James! I don't know how I messed that up. I just realized I directed my comment to Kevin, when you had written the article. I wish I could say that I was hyper-caffeinated, but i think its more to do with being an idiot. Sorry!

Rock on!

Hello Kevin!

I was surprised to discover recently that booting via USB 2.0 devices was supported on my MacBook (purchased new in August 2006). As far as i know, the first Mac hardware to carry USB 2.0 connections appeared in June 2003 - the PowerMac G5. I don't know if that G5 supported booting via USB 2.0-connected external drives, however. I found this information at http://www.apple-history.com.

I read jkontherun every day! I'm a long-longtime Mac user; however, a year ago I purchased a Motion LE1600 (which I've upgraded to Vista) and last weekend installed Vista on my MacBook using Boot Camp. Handwriting recognition and OneNote 2003 (and Pratley's blog posts about OneNote 2007) intrigued me sufficiently to step into the Microsoft world and give it a shot.

(More than you need to know: Now I feel like I'm going through a mid-life crisis. That may be more to do with the fact that I'm 38, just built a house and moved in with my girlfriend but I'm struggling to find a way to incorporate both OSes into my life. I think there may be enough material there to support a regular blog!)

Thanks very much for the great articles! You and James rock!
