My laptop had its first trip to “the bar” two weeks ago. Everything was going great, they determined that I needed some new hardware and checked it in. They will need it for 3-5 days MAX…my reply “are you sure? i need this for work, if it will take longer let me know and I will come back another time (it was still functional, just quirky)”. No problem sir MAX of 5 days. 2 weeks later, still no laptop, the part isn’t in stock and they can’t return my laptop until the repair is complete. I understand that parts cannot always be in stock but this is getting ridiculous.

I say live bog but don’t tell them. It might mess with them knowing they are under the gun.this way you will get normal service but still be able to let us know how it goes.

Blogging it is not only the right thing for you and other users, it is a good for Apple to understand what they need to fix.

I’m doing the same now about a problem that the anti virus program NOD32 is creating in Windows Mail (see http://groups.google.com/group/microsoft.public.windows.vista.mail/browse_thread/thread/cfbf541aa461e74a/444bc947372de928?lnk=raot). This may not be the perfect comparison since this is a software problem that should be easy to fix in NOD32, but the public notice is helping get action on the problem.

Working under pressure of a LIVE (-ish) audience should get you better than average service, so I say you should blog it!

Good to hear you are getting better.

If I was the manager of that store I would view the live blogging as an opportunity to showcase our outstanding effort to quickly satisfy the needs of the customer and exceed their expectation for how well we will fix things.

Maybe thats why I’m not manager of a retail store……
