Berry Locator is a utility that only costs $4.95 and is an ingenious little solution to the stated problem. All you do is configure it so that when you email yourself with a custom keyword in the subject line your BlackBerry will commence making all kinds of racket and flashing, even if you had it in silent mode when you lost it. If your BlackBerry is not where you are when you send the email it will display the email on the screen so you can include your contact information for whoever finds it. If your BlackBerry has a GPS onboard Berry Locator gets really sophisticated and emails you a map showing where the phone is located when you send the trigger email. There is a free trial available and like I said, $5 is pretty cheap for something potentially so useful.

The email that gets sent back to you with the Berry location only works if you DON’T have Verizon. I have the Verizon 8830 and the program works perfectly except I don’t get a return email with map. Thanks Verzion!!! NOT
This application might help me of leaving my Blackberry every place. Its not that expensive around 5$ but if it really works good then its worth to pay that much amount for it.
Does it also lock the handheld when you send the email so someone who finds it can ONLY access the email that says how to return it?
