Logitech Audiohub- for when your mobile is stationary
Logitech has introduced an interesting peripheral for your notebook, the Audiohub. The Logitech Audiohub combines a USB hub, 2.1 speaker system and web cam into a dock for your mobile PC. In spite of the small footprint the Audiohub packs a subwoofer alongside two smaller speakers for enhanced audio playback. If your notebook has an integrated web cam you will appreciate that the cam on the Audiohub is detachable to get it out of the way. There are three USB 2.0 ports for expansion. $100.

This is cool. I wonder if it just shows up as a USB sound card?? That should work on Linux as well if it shows up as a sound card. The webcam would probably be non functional, but this might be worth stuffing in the suitcase for in the hotel room.
Apparently it is NOT recognized as a soundcard, because it connects through a hub. However, an experimental option in the kernel did solve the “popping” noise reported by some. That’s kernel 2.6.25.4.
