Alan, the first generation iPhone doesn’t have a GPS receiver in it. The iPhone 3G does.

The iPhone does have true GPS. It is supplemented by base station locations etc but it is real GPS.

In other news: The Nokia phone updater software is now available for Vista machines but not, apparently, for those with XP SP3. – Just in case anyone is interested.

Kevin, try WeatherBug! It even pulls up the closest weather camera based on location services. I could almost see my hair blowing as I waited for the bus this morning. :-)
