Yeah I have to agree with what was said on MoTR. With that said, the UX series should be easier to get going on Linux with exception of the touch screen, but that should be a moot point in the near future. At least you could still be mobile with a Sony UX180 running Linux as you have the built in keyboard. As far as I know, there's no handwriting recognition yet for Linux except maybe on the Sharp Zaurus handhelds. I am convinvce some hackers will start a good project soon. But it will be a few years until it will work more reliably on micro pc's. Oh and your welcome James! (This is Joel)

I installed the Vista beta on my UX, and it worked quite well, except for the very detail mentioned by Dimitrios. After a bit of use, the touchscreen will stop working. So I went back to Tablet PC OS. I am looking to experience with other OS (Linux, Mac), but a working touchscreen is a must condition.

Vista is beta software and requires drivers from the OEM to insure it will work properly.

Hello you talked about Linux on the Q1,but can you get Vista working the way its supposed to,
I tried a clean install and a upgrade on theQ1 and I got everything to work. but if you leave the screen aloan for to long the pen interface will stop working. is there a for for this? can some one please help. I mean If you get everything working like I did its sweet. but If you have the Samsung keyboard working I would not go back.
