Is it true the Multi-touch is only XGA? That’s the way it looks on the website, anyway. I think I’d rather have the extra resolution than the touch. And I’m a touchy-feely kind of guy.

Kevin: I have a X61 on the way so I can’t speak (yet) from first-hand experience but I will echo what Warner said about a lot of the startup apps on the Lenovo being very worthwhile and acceptable, on balance, to a slower bootup time. I’m all aquiver with anticipation.

I actually have (ahem, had) the same boot/sleep times as JK on this one with my LE1600. It was my favorite part of Vista, actually, right after the new TIP.

Kevin,

Thanks for the shout out. The X60 was a notorious slow booter (as I believe the X41 was as well-could be wrong about that.) Much of that is due to the ThinkVantage proprietary stuff that is loading in, IMHO. I won’t say CRAPWARE because a lot of it is worthwhile.

Intriguingly, the Q1P that I’m evaluating drives me nuts with boot times and returning from sleep. I haven’t pulled any real optimization tricks there yet, but it does drive me a bit crazy waiting for that think to be ready.
