Lenovo Windows 7 Drivers on the Web
Windows 7 doesn’t officially launch until tomorrow but as Brad Linder points out some notebook makers already have drivers available. I was lurking around the web and discovered this page from Lenovo that has “beta” Windows 7 drivers and applications. It states that these are for Windows 7 RTM so that’s the real deal and may be worth checking out by Lenovo owners pulling an early upgrade. There seems to be a lot of drivers, covering a ton of Lenovo systems.

I’ve used/been using them for a few weeks (months?) on T60p and T500. They make the computer VERY VERY VERY slow to BOOT. ~ 1 min after login screen to boot into windows so that it’s usable.
That being said, the drive protection is obviously really helpful/nice, and seems to not affect boot.
The programs are MUCH faster than they were on xp, but… geez. Takes away 1/2 of the advantage of windows 7, I think (boot/resume times).
Bloat/crapware – especially the wireless connection – very buggy compared to win7.
Be careful with the Lenovo drivers. Only a couple really are needed, and others will make your system unbootable. For me, the failure was the power driver, which caused my win7 install to freeze without even reaching the login screen. Fortunately, win7 is relatively painless to re-install, so I was able to wipe and start over again within about an hour.
