Lenovo IdeaPad Y650 is here- 16-inches of goodness

My friends at Lenovo sent over a loaner IdeaPad Y650 notebook to have a look at and I’m sitting right now in Panera Bread giving it a first mobile run.  The Y650 is very attractive, and thin and light for a 16-inch notebook.

The lid is a very subdued black that is “grippy,” not the fingerprint magnet that is all the rage these days.  When opened, the notebook shows a glossy white finish with a full-sized keyboard, surrounded by volume buttons, a power button and JBL stereo speakers.

I’ll be sharing my thoughts on this big, yet extremely thin, notebook over my time to use it.  Here are the specs of the unit I am reviewing:
