What is going on? Can’t get this in the UK. Unclear about 6-cell battery availability. Could jkontherun do a feature update on the Lenovo S10

can you tell me best way to upgrade or get xp professional on the s10 which comes with xp home? could it be done from a flash usb drive with xp pro/sp3 files from cd on it? or must use external cd drive?

This crossed the s10 of my list for sure. My core duo thinkpad gets better battery life than that!! I swear this is legit too check her id number!

Any word on the 6-cell battery? This one factor is a make-or-break for me. I am choosing between this and the eeepc 1000, and the S10 is definitely the more attractive choice.

How about an update on the S10 – keyboard, battery life, likes, dislikes? An inquiring mind wants to know pre purchase.

Royce, my unit had no crapware but then it’s an evaluation unit, not a retail one. I do believe the beep can be disabled in the BIOS, I’ll check that.

I don’t find the S10 getting hot at all and I use it in my lap wearing shorts a lot.

Luis, I don’t have one but that noise is standard across all IBM/Lenovo laptops – my friend had it on his T61p, and my old IBM from 2002 has it too.

As I recall, it could be turned off either from BIOS or from the power app on the device.

I’ve got two questions – first did Lenovo put the whole load of IBM apps on this device? Also, how warm does it get – some reviews were complaining about the heat from the S10.

Is it possible to disable the audible sound when plugging in/unplugging the ac power?

It sounds awful loud in the youtube video.

Any chance you can get someone at lenovo to tell you when we’ll actually be able to buy the config they sent you? Also, it would be great to get the date when they’ll release a six cell battery…
