I like the multitouch with 2 or 3 finger on my EE PC900.

Near similar to the Mac Way.

HP will propose a Touch screen Netbook in some weeks. Nice news !

The futur is across way between Touch and Tablet PC.

Just one thing...

Were you saying that you didn't like having to use the F-keys or mouse buttons to invoke Exposé? What about using hot corners instead? You can get to all three states of Exposé and bring up Spaces by using the screen's corners.

But anyway.. Multitouch is pretty darn fantastic, even when it was just two-finger-capable on my old iBook (enabled via iScroll2). Three-finger image rotation and pinch scaling is quite neat, and getting to the App Switcher with a four-finger swipe is the icing on the cake.

Copy-paste wasn't ever a problem even with a button, though. Even easier than you demonstrated is to select the text and drag it onto TextEdit (super-easy if you keep it in the Dock) or whatever document you need (really fast with Exposé in hot corners), no Copy or Paste commands needed.

And to vm-01: These new trackpads differ from the iPhone in that they click as a large button (much like the Blackberry Storm, ironically enough ;-) ), whereas the iPhone's screen is button-less. Your guess is as good as mine as to how Apple will implement copy-paste on the iPhone (double-tap, drag to select, then hold for a popup menu?), but you can be sure that their insistence on apps staying in their own "sandboxes" for security's sake is one reason you don't see it now.

referring to yourself in the 3rd person now?

i really dont think people appreciate how awesome multi-touch trackpads are since most people havent had the chance to experience them yet. they seem happy with the more traditional Synaptics way of doing things, for now.

1 of my machines is a Asus 1000H & they recently just had a driver update which made it's multi-touch capabilities MUCH better. it doesnt have the maturity & features that Synaptics drivers do, but i have no dount in time they will surpass them.

being able to use the entire pad (only variable is amount of fingers) instead of predefined "zones" is a blessing. 2-finger scrolling, 3-finger back/forth, etc.
