Mophie juice pack makes it rather comfortable to hold, with it's non-slip surface. Love it!

Can anyone comment on the batteries that fit to the phone (Mophie etc) with respect to any problems blocking or reducing the phone signal in any way? Is your reception the same with the pack on vs off?

That's a point they make on the Ricard Solo website.

Thanks

Like John I have the truepower IV. It's a brick, but gets the job done. Camera flash, usb port, will completly recharge the battery. It's supposedly dockable, but looks like it fits a 2G dock.

Did the juice pack get any complaints from those you were talking with on the phone? It looks like it covers the iphone mic from the pics.

For what it's worth - I have the new TruePower IV external battery for my 3G iphone. It's great and includes a usb port for charging a second device.

sorry it is Lenmar and that one does not have a LED to show the power level and you must push a button to start the charge. One you take the phone off it will stop charging in a few seconds. The Kensington does have an LED with 5 lights and it begins to charge automatically.

I have three external batteries but they connect to my 2g iPhone with a wire instead of a direct connection and they were cheaper. The Kensington power pack was $50 and it powers most mobile devices. The Lenmark powerport is the same but has dropped in price at RadioShack from $60 to $40. I rarely make it an entire day without a charge so I keep one or two in my purse and another in my computer accessories bag just in case. NOTHING is worse than the phone dying with no outlet, which happened to me when I landed in Puerto Rico where I bought my first Lenmark.

Hi James
You can actualy find Exteneded run times For the juice pack on the back side of the Black box that it came in. If you look carefully you will see a spot where you can stick you finger nail in and it opens up like a book revealing the run times for phone call, wifi, 3g and much more. I would list them but am typing from Iphone right now. As far as the juice pack goes have had it for a week and a half. Best purchase for the iPhone since I have had it & that has been since it 1st came out. Have not removed juice pack from the Iphone since I received it. Before I would just about get through the day and now I can go all day & still have 2 out of the 4 lights light and full iPhone battery. As far as the extra bulk you realy get used to it quickly. And it's not bad at all. I even find it easer to hold as it provides a bit of a grip do to the material it's made from. Well anyway this is an outstanding product highly recomend it. Was on there waitlist since 8/15/08 and have to say it was worth the wait.

As a new iPhone 3G user, who's been running out of battery life pretty fast, I've been considering both of these as well as other products.

The Richard Solo, I Discarded pretty fast, mainly for the question of usability. If you can't really make use of the Phone properly, it kind of defeats the purpose of the device.

I'm Wavering right now between a Mophi or something similar which would be the more compact option or getting general purpose Extended Battery with a USB Port on it which I could also use with my other Devices (N800, 2 Phones, iPod Classic, Sansa)
