However, I have used it more for my own writing—taking notes while researching, writing when no netbook or laptop is with me, and writing when I needed audio, as well.

The notion of pencasting interests me because I teach a lot of Distance Education courses. This would be a great way to podcast, but also give the students a PDF of the notes I wish them to study.
