The G900 can work as a bluetooth keyboard and mouse?
I’m starting to want that gadget more than my new car! Anyone heard of a UK release date yet?

I think what Kevin was saying is that since we already have a somewhat usable keyboard with some smartphones why not pair them up with a UMPC to use them as HID keyboards.

It won’t help existing owners but it’s at least an encouraging sign that Toshiba has included exactly this functionality in their new G900 Windows Mobile Device. It can be paired as a generic bluetooth keyboard under Vista and the fingerprint scanner functions as a mouse. Keyboard works great but the scanner/mouse is pretty awkward. Hopefully others add this soon!

I’m thinking the smartphone will need some sort of driver/application installed in it so the computer recognizes a “keyboard service” coming from the phone.

The only possible solutions I know of are the PPC Tablet remote controller, although I haven’t tested using the keyboard as an input (http://www.handango.com/PlatformProductDetail.jsp?productId=144254#overview2), or to VNC over to the tablet.

Yup. I second that. Its a good point about using the smartphone keyboard as an input to the UMPC.

I don’t actually have a smartphone myself but there must be quite a few UMPC owners with smartphones.

thats a really good quetion…. ive been wondering that myself and i do research on the subject once in a while… i’ll reply something if i find anything but so far i’ve had no luck. i’ve only found a way to use the camera phone as a webcam via BT. but thats about it.
