I heard the touch pro2 will be running at $800.00 unlocked of course, for me, that’s a bit much. I just purchased a high end 4GB RAM (450GB memory) notebook for $700 with loads of other features. I was looking forward to this phone, but the price is so damn high. I look forward to the Nokia N97 in a few months then. I can wait. there is a site that use some good info about the touch pro2, http://www.AllTouchPro2.com i want to hear what your view is on this smart phone.

The Touch Pro 2 and Diamond 2 are big home runs for both HTC and Windows Mobile. These devices running windows mobile 6.5 along with the HTC overlay will make millions of people very happy.

Sprint is definitely getting the TP2, but not necessarily the Diamond 2 (initially). The rumor is “Fall 2009″ but I’ve seen random news claiming anywhere from June to November.

I was seriously considering this phone, but it dawned upon me that I really don’t need all the features that the HTC Touch Pro2 has.

Main thing I’m gunning for the the full QWERTY keyboard. I won’t be using the Windows Mobile aspect of the phone 90% of the time, hence I might be looking towards Nokia for a cheaper alternative (possibly E71).

Folks, lets ease up on the AT & T keyboard thing. Those pics from engadget were render or concept pics from probably 2008. I would say that it’s very unlikely the ugly keyboard in the render pics will appear on AT&T’s release….

well, you would hope that the ugly keyboard stays as a render!

They didn’t say the US wouldn’t get it–pocketnow’s reporting on the TP2 has been pretty much the best out there. They just noted that if you want one Now, you have to import.

Yes, and expect AT&T to make hardware changes. The pics on Engadget indicate AT&T have done away with the beautiful offset keyboard and added a numkey pad to the keyboard, as well as replacing the chrome backside with a matte black one (which should make finding that mute key even harder).

I wish I knew why AT&T makes these cosmetic changes when the device is near-perfect to begin with.

well considering Tmo US is getting this and release is due July 27 I’d Say the part about US not receiving this unit is poor reporting or their part considering it was Known about a month ago

This definitely is a great device, but the lack of a 3.5mm headphone jack is a serious negative for me. I’d get the Touch HD if I could give up the great keyboard the TP2 has.

I find it annoying that HTC doesn’t do more to bring these devices to the US, but I’m happy waiting for WinMo 6.5 and 7 to arrive before I make a purchase.

This is the phone I’m waiting for with baited breath. According to Engadget (Those other tech bloggers I sometimes read), both T-Mobile and AT&T are supposed to get the TP2, although no expected arrival dates are avaialble.

Knowing AT&T, it will be late fall before they get done mucking with it and put it up for sale.
