HTC Touch Pro pics at engadget
The HTC Touch Diamond is one of the coolest phones out there running Windows Mobile, it’s why HTC has sold so many of them in a short period. There are quite a few folks who like the Touch Diamond but would rather see it with a QWERTY keyboard added and that’s where the HTC Touch Pro comes in. Those lucky folks at engadget got to play with one briefly and have published a few photos of the Touch Pro and I must admit it looks pretty darn nice.

I was tempted to get one of these as my t-mobile contract is up. I’ve ended up on a rolling monthly contract on O2 with the iPhone but I’ll definately be checking this out. As well as the keyboard, longer battery life plus Mini SD slot over the Touch Diamond.
Engadget dumping on Windows Mobile again, but it is still the most flexible of all the mobile platforms, albeit the least user friendly.
Right now, I think this is likely to be my next phone. Most of the current rumors/reports have it coming out on Sprint right around the time that my current contract with them expires.
I’d be very tempted to get an iPhone if they offered a similar model with a slide-out keyboard, but I don’t see that happening any time soon. Every time I’ve gone with a keyboardless device in the past (including a couple PDAs and a UMPC), I’ve ended up replacing them with something with a keyboard within a year…
