HTC Cavalier passes FCC, which carrier will pick it up?
Now that Gizmodo found out the HTC Cavalier and its HSDPA innards have passed the FCC, I’m hoping that T-Mobile will pick it up for their 3G network. What 3G network you ask? The one that they haven’t officially launched yet, of course. Unfortunately, I believe that T-Mo bought 1700 MHz spectrum and the FCC tested the standard quad-bands on the Cav, but we’ll have to wait and see.
The Cavalier is the 3G sibling of the T-Mobile Dash, my primary phone device. It offers a very similar QWERTY keyboard, QVGA screen and Windows Mobile 6 Standard but ups the camera sensor from 1.3- to 2-megapixels along with a faster 400 MHz CPU. Although I’d enjoy seeing T-Mo pick this up (and roll out 3G), this GSM device is fair game for AT&T as well.

so when is t-mo going to flip the 3g switch exactly? all the old news reports point to “2007″ which is soon coming to an end, especially for something that large-scale.
