Luscious, you are right. The DV4T is better than the DV3T. The weight difference between both laptops is just .15 pounds according to HP. But it might be more or less depending upon the configuration. Unless the DV3T offers a full size backlit keyboard like the DV3Z, there is really so reason to spend more cash on the DV3T just because its marginally smaller. Of note, the DV3T will become hotter than the DV4T as its smaller. I think that is why the previous version of the DV3T was discontinued and now released again.

Near identical to the dv4t, with just as much top-end power. The only sacrifice you're making with the dv3 is that you don't get the 12-cell battery option, something that makes the dv4 still the best HP notebook as far as run times are concerned.

I also like the fact that the dv4 lets me freely swap the optical drive for a second hard drive or weight-saver, something you won't find in any other 14" notebook.

I'm not a fan of HP's bulbous styling, in evidence again here. All their laptops seem to look much fatter than they actually are. Unlike the Macbook, which is only a quarter inch thinner, but looks significantly thinner because of the seamless design. Surely someone in the HP design department can tell that their laptops look a bit pudgy. Their larger 15" models actually look like two regular laptops sitting one on top of the other. Why don't they do something about it?
