I have a treo 700p and want to connect it to my wireless router so multiple computers can share my internet connection. Any ideas if this is possible?

I strongly recommend this application! I've been using it for some time now, no complaints...the best part is, anyone can set it up and use it - it really is that simple!

Any view on the speed of connecting a PC via a Treo 650 and PDANet? I suspect that most of the time I'll just be using the unconnected Treo to check email, but occasionally connecting to the internet via the Treo to sync contacts or when there is a "must have" file that needs to be remotely loaded.

I just got the treo 700p. I know that there are alot of Palm OS fans out there but I think windows has done a better job with the phone-pda integration.... no voice dialing on the palm, and no summary screen showing that you have mail. Also, you have to setup alerts to notify you when mail arrives, and then disable the alert before reading the email.... I'm thinking about going with the 700w and the fix provided above for the tethering...

On the up-side hotsync works great.

Any serious down-sides to the windows version?

I have Treo 700w (with VZW) and I also use the latest version of PDA net that supports both bluetooth and tethered dial up connection. I have the 44.99/mo unlimited data plan for the phone and everything works great.

Except for my companies VPN which PDAnet is not compatible with. I just checked with VZW again today and they are not offering tethered dial up on this phone yet (or ever?). They will be for the 700p when that is released. So for now, stuck with Windows only PDAnet and no VPN. I'm not complaining though since it's still very fast and the phone is great.

Been waiting since Feb for VZW to offer tether. Hopefully soon.

vzw mentions subscribing to a "Tethering Feature" in their current TOS but never explains of offers it. I've been assured by a major rep with vzw that it will be offered.
