I have switched to a macbookpro and only work with XP now. I like it a lot better than OSX. I have a desktop that is arriving with vista preconfigured and probably wont upgrade my mac until I know more about it.

Interesting opinion, I have a new HP Vista laptop (1.7G dual core, 2G ram, 120G disk) and a MacBook.

He's one of the first I've heard that is pro-Vista, I'm in a company of a couple hundred developers and I haven't found anyone that really really likes Vista (MS and Unix developers).

Some folks (me included) are running XP under virtualization due to issues getting the right drivers for our notebooks (my HP, a friends Toshiba and an oddball Sony laptop). I ended up buying a 5pack of XP Pro just to make sure that I wouldn't get locked out of XP and forced into Vista for awhile.

While Vista is pretty, they went and moved enough stuff around to make it frustrating at times.

Not really a comment on Vista vs OSX but on Vista battery life.

I was scanning through PCConnection's online catalog and noted that they report battery life of the Samsunp Q1P with XP as 3.5 hours but the Q1P Vista as 3 hours. Not that I believe they are actually testing this but most likely they are getting these numbers from Samsung.

Oddly enough PCConnection has the Q1P XP at $1249 but the Q1P Vista at $1196
