Help Warner Achieve Maximum Mobility
Warner Crocker of GottaBeMobile is a good friend, and he is about to enter what sounds like a rough few weeks where mobile tech is going to make or break his ability to work in two places at the same time. I won’t go into details; I’ll let Warner do that, but he is faced with very long days of working in two venues at the same time. It sounds like he will spend a lot of time in the car bouncing between two cities.
He has obviously put a lot of thought into the mobile kit he will need to handle this task, and he’s laid out the gear he is going to use and explains why he will be using it. It’s a good list, but as is often the case with mobile tech, I am sure others might approach some things differently. Take a look at Warner’s piece, and see what you might use differently than his current plan. I know Warner will appreciate having some good ideas thrown his way to help him get ready for his big task. Leave some comments either here or on Warner’s post, and help him get through this the best way possible. I know one thing — he’s going to be needing all the battery power he can get for all his gear.

Hi James. I don’t understand what the problem is.
Warner is taking a Laptop, 3G USB Modem, a Mobile+Bluetooth headset, and a car. He is travelling between theatres 80 miles apart.
I am sure he can manage.
Sometimes all you need is a mobile, and pen and paper.:)
:)
Knowing Warner I am sure he will manage but if you have special tips for him I am sure he would appreciate it.
I posted about my mobile kit over at Teleread, including the clothes I wear. He might find it of interest:

Thanks jk for the shout out and the request for tips. As any good mobile geek knows we’ll steal, er,… borrow anybody’s tip if it will help us be more productive, squeeze a little extra juice out of a battery, or buy us a few precious seconds of downtime.
I would suggest either a dc adapter for his laptop or a dc to ac adapter power plug. with dc to ac he can power other toys while he’s traveling. first time post. Man, I love this site !
Yeah, he should get a transformer from RadioShack for $40 so he can charge his gear with a regular plug in the car.
