Skylook will record calls automatically for you if you are running MS-Outlook. All conversations are saved as MP3 attachments in an Outlook folder. You can record both sides of the conversation or just your own voice. No changes to sound settings, virtual cables or the like. Thanks for the info on Gizmo. As a new podcaster I am finding Hot recorder to be a total disaster. It kept freezing my Tablet PC on startup, to the point where I had to uninstall it. Its not as bad on my desktop, but earlier this week I used it to record a 45 min interview, and it recorded the two tracks out of synch. What a mess that was!

Hotrecorder has not worked for me at all. I had a lot of problems when it was installed and had to remove it.

Sorry, but I dont understand the above. Hotrecorder can record the skype conversation ie both parties at the same time.

ian, the problem is how to record a Skype call. Skype requires two audio devices or a virtual patch cable to allow recording both sides of a conversation. In my experience this leads to frequent audio quality issues. Gizmo will record both sides using no additional software and still seems to keep the quality very high.

Is HotRecorder Version 2 no good for Skype then ?

If most of your friends are using Skype then why change ?… (betamax rules ?)
