Fujitsu LIfebook P1510 hits the mini Tablet sweet spot!
Nottes Korea has published information about a new mini-notebook PC from Fujitsu that looks very close to an ideal form, if only it had an active digitizer and the Tablet OS. Fujitsu has snuck up on everyone who follows mobile gadgets with the announcement of the Lifebook P1510. The Nottes Korea article is in Korean but has some great photos and specification information about the P1510. Here’s the spec highlights from the article:
- 1.2 GHz Pentium M 753 Dothan ULV
- 512 MB RAM (max 1 GB)
- 8.9" Wide SVGA (1024 x 600)
- Intel 915GMS integrated graphics- 128 MB
- 60 GB HDD (SMART)
- Realtek audio
- Trusted Platform Module (TPM)
- 2 USB 2.0, RJ-11, RJ-45, CRT out
- Compact Flash Type II, SD slot
- 802.11 a/b/g (Intel Pro/Wireless)
- Extended battery available
- Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition
The screen and size appears to be very similar to the JVC Interlink XP741 I reviewed earlier but with the addition of a passive digitizer swivel screen. This is getting very close to an ideal size, although how useful the very small keyboard will be remains to be seen. Here are some photos:

With the notable exception of the Intel Centrino processor, the specs on this machine are pretty much the same as those on my 1-year old Flybook (I upgraded it to a 80 GB HD and the Tablet OS). I hear Dialogue is coming up with their upgraded models with Intel processors, so its really great to see this “scale” of machine gaining popularity. Personally, I don’t think I can go back to the regular size laptops.
Thanks for the info. Any news on how/where to purchase?
still no pc card looks like, so a Verizon EVDO card is out…
great catch and post…thanks.
WOW, it’s very nice looking laptop, sexy and sleek, I just hope the price will be user firendly too. Maybe Sony Vaio will introduce another U serie soon? Can’t wait to see it!!

It appears this Fujitsu does have a PC Card slot!
Hi James:
Every spec I have read indicates that the P1510 has a CF slot, not PCMCIA. Disappointing… I’ll try to confirm. Let us know if you find out otherwise.
Thanks.
Looks like it competes pretty well with the Motion Computing LS800 now that you can get it with TabletPC OS.
Anyone know if Fujitsu will release the P1510 with a PCMCIA slot??
