Fujitsu drops the P7230 in Taiwan
At 1.2 kilograms with a 10.6-inch screen, I think it’s acceptable to call the Fujitsu P7230 an ‘ultraportable’; just don’t call it yours if you live outside of Taiwan, since that’s where it was released today. At a U.S. price of just over $2,000, it’s not a bad portable package:
- Intel Core Solo U1400 CPU at 1.2GHz
- WXGA resolution
- 1 GB of RAM, upgradeable to 2 GB
- 80 GB drive at 4200 RPM
- 6-cell battery quoted at 6 hours of battery life
- 802.11 a/b/g and Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR
You get your choice of MacBook black or white with the P7230; it would be nice to see this form factor in a convertible Tablet PC as in a "T4215 Jr".

Please don’t go all Engadgety on us. If you drop something it means you’re either talking about the effects of gravity or (as in this case, I believe) it means it’s no longer being produced (ie: they’ve dropped it from their product line).
Sorry John; old habits die hard! ;)
