Freeware of the Moment- PicLens

Our Freeware of the Moment is a little different than usual as it’s not a program, rather PicLens is one of the coolest browser add-ons I’ve seen yet.  It defies description, basically it’s a cool way to interact with your browser for image and video work.  The user interface looks a lot like the Cover Flow interface and what makes PicLens so cool is how fast and high resolution it is.  I have been using PicLens with Firefox 3 on both the Mac and Windows and it simply works well.  The search box that will search common image sites like YouTube and Flickr is very nicely done.  Take a look at this screen I snapped of a search for jkOnTheRun I did on Google:

Piclens

This screen doesn’t do it justice as the beauty of PicLens is how the animated 3D interface works and makes spinning through a lot of images a whole lot of fun.  To see PicLens in action requires a video of it in action and our buddy Jason Dunn of Thoughts Media did one of it so have a look at the video and see why I find it to be a nice addition to my browsing arsenal.  Thanks to reader Stephen Feger for pointing me to PicLens!
