I liked xplorer2, but I’m now hooked on CubicExplorer, which is still in development, but stable, and pretty feature rich, and usable.

I have three licenses for the Pro version. Needless to say, I love it. It’s one of my top productivity apps.

My favorite feature is the address bar. You can modify the path directly, with the changes reflected in the file panes. You can also specify wildcards, including complex ones like “*.xls,-*taxes*” (show all Excel files except those with “taxes” in the name). Ctrl+J toggles the wildcard filter. And each pane can have its own filter and state.

Been using xplorer2 for some time now. In my opinion, by far the best Explorer replacement out there that I’ve found – lightweight, quick, great features, especially so once one learns the keyboard shortcuts for it.

I’ve used xplorer2 and think it’s great. Have you tried FreeCommander? I prefer it slightly to xplorer2, and it’s totally free. It’s the first program that I loaded onto a new system.
