Free App Friday at Handango: CodeWallet Pro 6
Hats off to Download Squad for spotting this download. With a name like Download Squad, I guess they’re just doing their job, but kudos anyway. ;) Apparently Handango is giving away applications on Fridays and today’s offering, CodeWallet Pro 6, would normally set you back about $25. You’ll have to jump through a Handango survey for the free Windows Mobile software, but that’s the price you pay for not paying a price. Or something like that.
CodeWallet Pro 6 is a personal information manager to track your passwords, bank accounts, credit card info and other "must have with me but in a safe place" types of data. According to the product page at DeveloperOne, the software works on Windows Mobile 2003, 5 and 6 Pocket PC and Smartphone devices.

TWO PROBLEMS HERE:
1) the program offered is NOT CodeWallet Pro 6, it’s CodeWallet Pro 6 MOBILE!! Both versin DO exist; however CodeWallet Pro 6 MOBILE is NOT compatible with WM03, ONLY with WM5 aand WM6.
I really don’t understand why DeveloperOne it’s producer has those 2 different versions with confusing names. It might be that CodeWallet Pro 6 MOBILE has some features only possible with newer Win OS version. However, the naming scheme should be less confusing.
They also have Agenda One and Agenda Fusion which seem to have the same general features and offered at the very same price; but that’s another story.
2) When you clic on the Terms and Conditions : link at Handango it reads: “The software offered in connection with this End-User Free Trial License Agreement (the “License Agreement”) may be either subscription based Software or non-subscription Software (the “Software”).”
FREE TRIAL??? is it REALLY free software or simply the usual stuff that most programs come with, i.e. free trial?!!
I won’t bother going any further to get this: first I don’t have a WM5 or 6 device, then if it’s just trialware, no thanks; I already have two electronic wallet programs anyway; thought getting another one might prove to be a better option, you never know.
This Handango offer clearly looks like misrepresentation, I’d say!!!
