FlyBook v5 now available for order at iCube
I mentioned a few weeks ago that the FlyBook v5 is available in the US exclusively from Dynamism. This information came straight out of a press release announcing that fact. The folks at iCube have informed me that not only are they carrying the V5 but that it’s available for pre-order right now. The v5 is the next generation of the FlyBook series and builds on the features of the v33i that Kevin reviewed.

Hmmm, I wonder why this is not offered with a larger hard drive (only 40 GB, c’mon !!!). It is also not clear that the screen is outside visible like that on the P1610. Love the HSDPA though…
The V5, VM and the V33i are all available at http://www.flybookus.com! We are taking pre-orders on the V5 and will have them instock Mid-April. The V33i and the VM are available immediatly. We are also offering an opening special on the V5 that includes a USB mouse and DVD R/W external drive and V33i special that includes a USB mouse, DVD R/W external drive and a spare 3 cell battery.
Regarding the V5 hard drive size, it uses the new 1.8 inch drive and due to the thickness of the larger drives, the V5 chassis cannot accomodate anything larger at this time. We are waiting for Seagate to come out with a thinner larger drive. We have heard that these should be available for the summer.
