Facebook for Windows Mobile- Finally

Microsoft has finally released a Windows Mobile optimized app for Facebook. The delay to get this version out the door is surprising for a few reasons, not the least is the over $200 million investment MS poured into Face book a couple of years ago. The WM version of the program makes easy Facebook access available from just about every phone on the planet now.
Our friends at Mobility Minded have already written a thorough review of Facebook for Windows Mobile and it sounds like they like what they see. Check it out and see if you will too.

Finally? Is that sarcasm? We’re better off without it
Yes, I was a bit surprised by the “Finally” bit of the title too.
Also, I don’t think it’s that surprising that MS haven’t rushed to release a Facebook app for WinMo considering the fact that they’ve traditionally considered the platform to be better suited to business users.
but the line between “business users” and “consumers” is very blurred now. I think the only distinction is for those in a company that forces then to use X device. I am really surprised at the number of “business” people on FB. Microsoft has no choice – they have to catch up or fade away.
Oh, BTW, I am running the app on my Touch Pro. It’s nice.
I have the HTC Diamond on Sprint, It’s nice, the only hiccup in my opinion is, the app uses Opera, the longer you run it, the quicker you run out of memory.
Wow, a lot of hostility on this. :|
I’m running it on a Touch Pro as well… and I have a feeling it’s how I’ll be conducting at least half of my Facebook viewing. Why?
A) No ads.
B) No fluff… just the real content like status updates and photo/video content, which is all I really care about. I really dislike all the “apps”.
Yeah, that whole business users crap is nonsense. I barely do any business on my HTC Diamond & the Facebook app was looooong overdue. Still its not up to par with the iPhones version & I made note of that on thier Facebook page. There is no reason why its subpar. If we can have an awesome twitter app (PocketTwit) from a 3rd party joe, why not Facebook from M$ & Facebook devs?
Its needs to match the iPhone version, bad.
I am running the new windows mobile facebook app on my HTC Touch Pro and Diamond. It works great and I love that I can upload videos right from my phone now!
