No luck with Imate JasJar, claims there's not a version for mobile java or something. Bummer, the quest for the perfect PPC IM client continues...

Hello sir, you are slightly mistaken in how EQO lets you use Skype on your phone. There is no need for Skype to be running on the mobile, just run Skype and the EQO for Skype plug-in on your Mac or PC. Just wanted to clarify, have a good weekend.

Any software can claim to have any feature they fantasize. The real question is: how well, if at all, does the feature work? Even Trillian on PC has its fatal problems for some users.

Last time I looked, EQO's Skype feature worked on certain Palm OS devices, too (like the TX, LifeDrive and Treos). It doesn't require a Skype client on the PDA -- there is an EQO client that runs on the PDA. It does (or did when I last looked at it) require Skype to be running on your PC back at home or the office. Now that there's Articulation for the Palm, however, kludges like EQO's Skype feature are no longer necessary to use VOIP.

Hmm.. Let's see, is there a Verizon Wireless non-Smartphone listed somewhere there? No, of course not! Chalk it up to Verizon Wireless and Qualcomm for the lockdown of BREW over the beloved J2ME.
