Dual USB car charger for $9? Count me in!
One thing I don’t have in the Hybrid is an easy way to charge my iPhone. You’d think "USB" would truly be Universal by now, but it’s not. So, I scanned through Amazon and found this little charger on sale for $9; when I saw the price, my credit card leapt out of my wallet on it’s own accord. The charger plugs into a standard electric port (our hybrid has three) and offers two USB ports for connecting and charging small devices. Looks like there’s a little LED light to indicate a charge in progress as well. I don’t recognize the brand, but for under $10, I think I’ll take the chance!

Thats a great deal, and Scosche is one of the largest manufacturers of car audio accessories, so it should be well made.

Maybe it’s just me, but I have about three or four single-port car USB chargers cluttering up my home office. Seems like a lot of the gadgets I bought in recent years (phones, BT headsets, navigation system, …) came with one. I don’t think I have run into the need to have two going at the same time, but if needed, my car has two electric ports available…
I’ve had zero luck getting the iPhone to charge from these devices… it wants a computer, or it wants an Apple USB charger device.
I have one of these, it’s very handy…
BTW – They are only $4.88 at Wal-Mart, the same brand.

Yep, I got one at Walmart and saw one at an auto store. Works for USB GPS’s.
Me I just use one of the few free USB hubs I have laying around that I got free from trade shows with the single USB port. I have a simple 4 hub to charge my BT headset, Phone, MP3 player, and FM transmitter all neatly in my armrest.
Granted the 12V AC adapter also has a 4 port splitter for the other stuff in my car- GPS, XM Radio, Sirius radio, and the USB charger/hub combo. :)
$7.99 at walgreens, nice low profile charger. Confirmed to work for iphone 3g.
