What I found, is that the evtouch driver is probably calculating the coordinates incorrectly. Looking at the raw results, moving in a straight line with the stylus grounded to the side of the display, the high order bits change significantly while the low order bits hardly move at all. This suggests to me that the bits are inverted and that there is probably an endian error or the digitizer uses a different algorithm to compute the screen coordinates than is used by X. If I can figure out how to compile the drivers and can get to where I am right now with the pre-compiled drivers, I'll see if I can't "fix" the defect. I'm confident that I'm close since the driver at least recognizes the stylus and reports consistent values... unfortunately they aren't contiguous.

Oddly, I was just about to do the same. My Q1P has Vista and 1GB (I'd install 2GB, but I've never seen conclusively that 2GB will work on my machine). Since I can't install Aero compatible video drivers on this machine, I'm putting Vista Business on the UMPC and putting Ultimate on my work machine. While I'm in the process of rebuilding it again, I decided I would also throw Ubuntu on it in a dual boot config. I'll let everyone know how it goes... Ubuntu Mobile Edition looks like it will be the flavor to install when it comes out. They specifically mention the Samsung Q1's.
