As a Touch Pro Owner, I have been using it as a pocket only. I have a leather case for the belt but, I have strayed away. However, last week, my phone met paperclip in my pocket and know I have to stare at a small but very annoying scratch on the screen. Argg… None the less, I am getting full body skin and will not regret it.

Can’t wait for the touch pro2. Woot.

Always naked… Same reason there are no slim cases that seem to protect with out making it to big/heavy.

Also work won’t pay for cases but they have no problem replacing any phone when it’s broken so it’s cheaper to replace the phone (cheaper for me not my employer) if anything happens.

DLO VideoShell and a screen protector. I never notice any additional weight or bulk.

No case. In the pocket. It’s kinda like a car. By putting anything on the bumpers to protect if from damage, you make it look totally ugly. Then the justification as made be an earlier poster – it will have higher resale value. But you have to live with the ugliness. I’d rather have my phone (and car!) get a little dinged up, but enjoy them without compromise while they’re mine. Nothing wrong with a little patina of use.

Can you really get that much money selling a previous generation phone? I imagine the amount of money added onto the sale by it being in new condition from being in a case is the same amount of money you spent on the case.

I own a HTC TyTNII and I use it naked. I find all these housing awful and they all destroy the look of the phone. Of course, the counter part is that it felt on the ground one or two times in two years but luckily without serious damage.

I have a G1 that I keep as the only thing in my right hand pocket, so I don’t have to worry about keys or change scratching the screen. I always keep the screen facing my thigh, so I don’t have to worry about bumping into a table and breaking it. I’ve never had a problem with this method.

The Air Jacket covers the back, but doesn’t quite make it up to the screen. For that, I have a wee screen protector. It doesn’t add much bulk at all, and when my headphone cable was snagged, sending the iPhone flying into the pavement, the case did its job.

I’d tried cases with more coverage, and they tend to ruin the usability of the iPhone.

Naked! Apple didn’t make the thing slim just to put it in a case. I’d rather take the risk, and so far, haven’t regretted it.

I don’t have a girly fashion phone like most of the posters here so I don’t mind a few scratches. I’ve dropped my present device, nokia E90, at least 3 times onto the floor and it hasn’t hurt it at all.

I hadn’t used a case in years when using clamshell phones, but cased my iPhone and put a screen protector on it immediately so that I can throw it in my briefcase or pocket with wallet, keys, power adapter and other scratchy things and not worry about it. It’s one of those Speck blocky looking cases they sell at the Apple store, and while it does increase the size of the phone a bit (it’s light but the cushiony rubber is bulky), having dropped the phone a couple of times since getting it, I’m happy to bear that extra size.

i like to use my phones, PDAs and PDA Phones naked. i only need carrying cases that can be hooked on to my belt or placed inside my pocket.

I usually look for a case I can loop onto my belt. I want my phone with me everywhere in a way that doesn’t require me to keep track of it – did I put it on the desk? Is it in my jacket pocket? It’s ringing, now where the heck is it?

Currently using the Krusell Hector case for my HTC Touch HD. The case I got is for the iPhone but since they are practically identical size-wise it works perfectly.

I use the phone “au natural” ;) but always carry and store it in the belt case. It takes less than a second to flip up the magnetic cover and push the phone up and out of the case into my hand too, very practical all round.

Of course opinions on belt cases differ… I think “professional, very practical” and others think “super nerd” just one minor step removed from a fanny pack… But then again, I am a nerd so I’m fine with it.

InvisibleShield by ZAGG is pretty good but Best Skins Ever is about 1/3 the price for the same stuff. It works great. I have them on a HTC Advantage, a AT&T 8525 and now an iPhone. No it isn’t a hard shell plastic case but it doesn’t add any measurable size. It has a nice grip that keeps it from slipping from my hands but still goes in and out of a pocket easily and is indestructible. I use a case when I have to but the skin is there all the time.
