Did You Get Any Good Gadgets?
In the night before Christmas, you left your gadget wish-list. Now it’s time to see what tech toys you actually unwrapped! Who got a new RAZR? How about an Apple IIe or TRS-80? Maybe a 32 MB Compact Flash card?!?
I’m kidding… I’m sure that bunches of you got some nice tech that will keep you happy this holiday season. As for me, I’m just happy to spend a quiet day with the family… and play Wii or Xbox 360 while we stream holiday music through the AppleTV and live-stream our video gaming session on the web. OK, maybe I’m not totally unplugging this season after all. Happy holidays! :)

I got a Kindle 2.
Probably my favorite purchase of the year. I use mine daily.
It was a very Wii Christmas in our house:
-Wii console w/ sports games
-Wii second controller
-Wii Zapper w/ Links game
-Wii Fit Plus
Wii will be having alot of fun…
We added the Wii Fit Plus to our Nintendo ensemble too. Fun games!
I didn’t get any gadgets.
What I DID get was US$350 in cash, then a US$25 gift card for eBay and a US$20 gift card for Target.
Even better gift if you ask me, since I’m usually discriminating with my gadgetry and want obscure stuff most people wouldn’t know about.
Now, time to retire the HP TC1100 and find a more powerful Tablet PC that fits within my budget…
I got cash. Im waiting for the launch of Pinetrail to get my new Netbook. I want one that can play HD video. So I’m waiting for you guys to start getting review units and post some stuff. Hope this new years is filled with happy and joyful moments. Thank you JK and Kevin.
Try out the HP Mini 311. No Pinetrail but is the best netbook of 2009! I got one for Christmas and you will get a solid 5 hours and 30 minutes of battery life under Windows XP and a solid 4 and a half under Windows 7. The only con about this machine is the fan is constantly on.
In most cases you should be able to play HD video on current netbooks.. this is something that has been bothering me for a while, that peopel don’t seem to know this. most of the problem is trying to play HD video without the proper codec. I have an acer netbook, one of the first gen ones. After installing the k-lite codec pack and the KMplayer, I was able to play 1080p xvid, divx, h.264, and quicktime files. both on the internal screen scaled, and an external monitor.
you can read http://dreamphase.wordpress.com/2009/01/20/how-to-play-anything/ for a little more info.
Nathan.
I could say I got my Christmas present early. Well four months early if that counts. My old notebook bit the dust a while back, and since I couldn’t wait, I picked up a nice Toshiba Qosmio X305-Q708 that was on sale for a super deal.
All I can say is WOW!!! Love everything about this high-end notebook. The free Targus case and Win 7 coupon was a nice addition too.
Feel free to jump to my blog where you’ll get more info on my purchase, including a full review of this flame-red beast.
I got a Logitech MX620 Cordless Laser Mouse, to use with my relatively new laptop, a watch and battlefield 2142 =D…
The mouse is really nice and it works on alot of different surfaces (or so it claims) I haven’t tested it out yet. The game’s a little old but I can play it for hours on end. Merry Christmas and a happy new year, Kevin and my fellow gadget lovers!
I didn’t receive tech-I gave it this year. My older niece is now enjoying a Gateway 3103u that I wasn’t thrilled with while her younger sister is playing with a Fujitsu P1610 that I’ve had sitting in a box for way too long. Merry Christmas everyone.
I didn’t get any gadgets this year, because I just didn’t want/need any. But I setup my mom’s new Toshiba laptop, and my girlfriend got a 32GB iPod Touch from her family.
New nano, fluid2 bike trainer, wii sports resort, and a very fun RC helicopter…
Still waiting on the dang Acer 1820PT to show up in the US…
I am too busy beta testing the upcoming Apple iS***e !
This thing is totally awesome. The keyboard rocked my world.
You guys are gonna love this thing in 2010.
Sounds good but pics or no believe. :)
I got a Sony WX1, and proceeded to take many a picture, panorama and HD video :)
Ditched the Pre and got an iPhone.
Asus Eee T91
Wii Fit Plus
A very merry tech Christmas for me! I got all the things I wanted to trick out my new desktop:
- Logitech cordless trackman wheel
- Logitech Webcam Pro 9000
- Blue Snowflake microphone
Add a Best Buy gift certificate, some iTunes gift certificates, and a handy iPhone seat buddy (http://www.theseatbuddy.com/) so I don’t get a crick in my neck watching my iPhone on a plane anymore.
I’m holding out for an e-reader next Christmas when I hope some backlit ones will be taking over the market!
I got a Chumby One! Hope to try it out today. Also greedily bought myself a Nook. Have that in hand to try today too.
Great news on that Nook. Froze up in the first 5 minutes and had to remove battery to power off. Have not applied the update yet but that’s not a good first impression.
Have to say, the Nook is pretty pokey. The touch UI at the bottom is not very responsive and it is also rather unhelpful to have a touch screen separate from the main screen, especially when settings and what not are scattered across both. Nook home run so far. I like the Sony touch model better.
Note – this is after applying the latest update.
