Kevin was just asking who would announce the first netbook to ship with Moblin Netbook Remix pre-installed and we now know the answer. Dell is showing a Mini 10v at IDF today that will be available starting tomorrow for $299. Moblin is shaping up to be an awesome OS for netbooks and Dell wants to cash in on the hotness.

You don’t have to wait for the Dell netbook to give Moblin a spin. You can download it yourself and see how you like it.

Nice to see (and good timing with IDF), but folks should realize that Moblin isn’t quite ready for prime-time. Intel is trying to get this netbook out to developers for their work on decent, uniform hardware.
That’s correct. The latest Moblin built is pretty good, but still a beta. It still needs some improvements here and there. Unfortunately, there hasn’t been any major updates since August 18. Befor that, they offered a new built every two weeks. I wonder whether the moblin guys are preoccupied with other projects, like, for example, the one mentioned above.
