Actually, it's running on a derivative of the TI OMAP3430, which I believe is an ARM Cortex A8 core, similar to the Palm Pre and the IPhone 3G S.

This is a fantastic idea.

Even on a Blackberry, typing an email is not a pleasant experience. It's so much better to be able to do that on a big screen with a proper keyboard, without having to boot up windows.

Being able to do that basic business task properly all day makes Latitude ON worthwhile.

Apart from that, I can't see any reason, as it has a browser, why it couldn't be used in conjunction with cloud computing, to facilitate other business applications.

I would assume most mobile Corporate Executives ALREADY own some kind of Smartphone so this seems a bit redundant IMO. Not a fan of Citrix thin-client solutions either. All corporate apps should already be fully browser-based and SSL-enabled when on the road. KISS is best approach. If your company has not met these simple standards then you already have a major problem with your IT department and mobile tech is the least of your issues that need to be rectified ASAP. I make my living fixing Bad IT Manager decisions and believe me the USA has no shortage of bad IT managers.
