Yes but when 1.0 of palm and android are ahead of 3.0 from the iphone you realize the number of the software OS doesn't make it more advanced.

It's funny how the possible release of cut and paste, a feature on other smartphones for years and years, is heralding such a positive response. Almost as if Apple invented copy and paste. Jeez I'd settle for A2DP at this point.

Back on topic. I bet an Apple tablet would be a great piece of hardware. First thing I would do would be install Win7 on it just as I have on my Macbook though.

While I have no idea what Apple will present tomorrow, I will say this. The fact that they are stepping on the gas pedal and pushing 3.0, while the new kids on the block (read: Android and Palm Pre) are barely 1.0 suggests that they have learned the lessons taught them oh so painfully by Microsoft in the PC wars; namely, that he who wins the hearts and minds of developers, wins the war.

As to the App Store side of the equation, I have put a lot of thought into what that means from a competitive advantage perspective, and blogged about it in:

iPhones, App Stores and Ecosystems (http://bit.ly/Hre72)

Check it out if interested.

Cheers.

Tomorrow is about the next release of iPhone OS. The invitation makes that pretty clear.

It's debatable whether hardware will be discuses AT ALL, let alone a new product announcement.

As usual, ridiculous rumors are building so everyone can be all disappointed when the event is over.
