Coffee break – I think I just ticked everyone off in Starbucks
I just trucked up to the Quakertown Starbucks; sorry Dave R., I don’t have time to drive further north to Allentown today, but soon! In any case, there were four other folks using notebooks (Dells and Toshibas) when I arrived. I don’t think I was here for more than 15 minutes before every one of them left, one at a time. It could be coincidence, but each of them seemed to have a ticked off look as they passed me while exiting.
I’m sitting here thinking, "OK, what did I do. Let’s see, I showered today, so it’s not that. I didn’t bother them with any phone calls or music, so….what the heck was it?" A few minutes after they all left, it hit me. I didn’t realize it while they were leaving, but now that I think back they ALL had two mobile gear bags that looked awful bulky and heavy. I’m guessing the small Booq bag over one shoulder that holds my mobile office with plenty of room to spare just set ‘em off. Good thing I didn’t flaunt a touchscreen in their face or anything…I might be wearing my White Chocolate Mocha right now instead of drinking it. ;) Darn double-bag hoodlums….

I absolutely love the UMPC effect.
It never fails…
“Is that a PDA?”
“No, its a UMPC, a complete computer.”
“Oh, the screen sure is small.”
“Yeah, but it is does everything for me: computer, Internet (WWAN), MP3 player, DVD player, camera, and phone,” [I use Skype] “and you get use to the screen pretty quick. Especially since it is a touchscreen and is so bright and crisp. The convenience of one device FAR outweighs its size” (I have a Sony UX280 that I set to max brightness for these occasions)
“Yeah, it DOES look pretty good. Wish I didn’t have to lug this POS around with me. You want to trade?”
“Ummm, no thanks.”
The day before my 46th birthday, and I make the front page of jkontherun—a dream fulfilled! ;)
I’m in Quakertown in about 10 minutes flat–let me know when the next Geek Aggravation is planned for, and I’ll be there.
Great job with episode 101!

lol Kevin, “Darn double-bag hoodlums” rofl.
Kevin which bag do you have?
Al, I can’t recall the exact model name and I don’t believe that Booq sells it any longer. The closest they now carry is the Python.
