Coffee break- twice a day at Starbucks for a cheap drink
Starbucks is doing what they can to combat lower sales and a new program kicking off today might be a good way for the coffee giant. Go to a Starbucks location for your coffee in the morning, save the receipt and bring it with you to any Starbucks after 2 pm. Your afternoon iced coffee drink will be just $2 when you show them the morning receipt (from the same day). It’s a simple enough promotion that it just might work. Especially since a Grande iced coffee is usually $4 or so. Here’s looking at you, kid.

I ran into the same thing this morning when picking up my morning coffee. The approach that Starbucks has taken with this promotion will in my opinion not generate a lot of repeat sales. It requires the consumer to work to hard. I’m now forced to hold on to my receipt & remember to swing back by later today to take advantage of this “deal.” With a bit of technology Starbucks could achieve so much more success. With the amount of money I drop at this place, I really like the idea. It’ll save me some cash.
It’d be nice if the discount is applied automatically with Starbucks card.
Over in the UK the word is that Starbucks has at last started to offer free refills – which I believe is standard in the US already.
Free refills in the UK – but only one. And they look at you really funny when you ask.
I will take Caffè Nero over Starbucks any day :-)
In the UK I find that the WiFi in Starbucks (T-Mobile hotspot) is more frequently down than up, too….
Great! Now when I go back I won’t need to ask for another “doubletallnonfatsugarfreesoydecafjavachipfrapuccino with whipped cream”. I’ll just say “same as before”.
